Alan Rickman, one of the best-loved and most warmly admired British film and stage actors, has died from cancer at the age of 69 in London on January 14, the Guardian reported.

据英国《卫报》报道，英国著名戏剧与电影演员艾伦·里克曼于当地时间1月14日因癌症在伦敦去世，享年69岁。

Born in London on February 21, 1946, Rickman was admitted to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1972. Nominated or awarded by a series of significant awards such as British Academy Film Awards, Tony, Golden Globe, and Emmy, his most recognizable role was his portrayal of Professor Snape in Harry Potter films.

艾伦·里克曼于1946年2月21日出生于英国伦敦，1972年进入皇家戏剧艺术学院就读。他曾先后被提名或荣获英国电影学院奖、托尼奖、金球奖、艾美奖等重要奖项，其最为人所熟知的银幕形象，正是《哈利·波特》系列电影中的“黑魔法教授斯内普”。

About acting, Rickman once said, “You can act truthfully or you can lie. You can reveal things about yourself or you can hide. Therefore, the audience recognizes something about themselves or they don’t—you hope they don’t leave the theatre thinking, ‘That was nice…now where’s the cab?’”
