As a non-psychology professional, I don’t have the capabilities of listing all the thoughts or ideas in association with the success or failure of learning English, so I’ll simply make a short list. Again, please get ready to be hit, cuz I might very possibly be talking about you.

并没有“学不好就去死”的强烈欲求

学好英语的心理原动力：1，不学好就没机会去读书、升职加薪、发财；2，老子或老娘太特么耐这语言了！其实，真正走得远的是第二种心态，因为只为成就而快乐，钱财神马的短期利益都不是所追求的一切。没有这两种，放弃只是迟早问题，放弃魔方倒是小事，彻底放弃英语学习才是大事，多年后又会后悔。不幸的是，欲求这种东西向来都是天生的，没有后天养成的。而且很巧合的是，欲求和智商成正比。

Not having the “Do Or Die” aspiration

Motivation of successfully acquiring English all comes down to 2 ideas: 1, without it, I can’t have the chance to study, get promoted or get rich; 2, I just fucking love this language! Actually, those holding the second thought can go much further on the path of learning and can acquire a higher success, because for them, fortune is not the top priority. Without these 2 driving forces, giving up is only a matter of time, and I’m not talking about stopping using MoFun, but about completely giving up English learning. Sadly, aspirations are what you were born with, not what you are taught to have. Furthermore, aspirations are proportional to intelligence. The higher the intelligence, the stronger the aspirations, and vice versa.

庸才的天资，天才的自我定位

在自我意识极度膨胀的时代，“凤姐”式自我定位绝对不是个别事件。总是拿着1%的努力，幻想着自己拿到了超越99%的人的成就，遇到强于自己的人也很快被打入冷宫。自恋基本等同于不治之症，因为患者不会觉得自己有病。不仅天才眼里傻B多，傻B眼里傻B更多。你若不是，你肯定见过。

It’s not just the eyes of geniuses that see idiots, but the ones of idiots that see more idiots. If you’re not one, you must’ve seen some.

Preprogrammed Believes & Assumptions

People never doubt what they’re preprogrammed to believe in, and definitely reject, loathe and criticize any conflicting new knowledge. Another regular tendency is that people don’t favor proof or facts, and they’re only happy as long as their logical or ill-logical assumptions are presumably right. Painful as it is, changing believes puts people in their comfort zone of old, probably untrue knowledge.
