和我们所熟悉的大多数欧洲车手不一样，桂濛并没有从十岁之前就开始参加卡丁车比赛，然后逐渐进入赛车世界。她在小时候虽然在电视上看过F1的比赛，不过更深入地接触赛车，倒是因为和哥哥一起玩儿过赛车的游戏。或许那时和赛车懵懂的接触在桂濛心中种下了向往赛车的种子，但是她真正决定投身赛车事业，去考了赛照，却是她二十岁之后的事了。



在进入赛车领域之前，桂濛在北京电影学院攻读过摄影专业，差点答应去为张艺谋拍纪录片，也做过五年汽车杂志的测试编辑。在被问到为什么摄影专业毕业后没有跟着老谋子拍片时，她说“因为我喜欢规律一点的作息，感觉在剧组时间太长会生病，当然并不是说放弃摄影事业，毕竟学了四年，并且汽车也是我从小喜欢的。”而在她做测试编辑的五年里，因为能写能拍，桂濛也经常身兼二职，既做文字编辑，也做摄影编辑。

Unlike most of the European drivers we are familiar with, Guimeng did not start racing karts before the age of ten and gradually enter the world of motor racing. She watched Formula One races on TV when she was a child, but she became more involved in racing when she played with her brother. Perhaps at that time and racing ignorant contact in the heart of GuiMeng planted the seeds of yearning for racing, but she really decided to devote to racing career, to test the race, is her 20 years after the matter.



Before entering racing, GUI studied photography at the Beijing Film Academy, almost agreed to make a documentary for Zhang Yimou, and spent five years as a test editor for a car magazine. When asked why she didn't work with MOE after graduating from photography, she said, "I like a regular schedule, and I feel that I will get sick if I work for too long. Of course, I don't mean to give up my photography career. After all, I have studied for four years, and cars are my favorite since childhood." During her five years as a test editor, GUI Meng often held two jobs, as both a copy editor and a photo editor, because she could write and shoot.
